SLIDING SCALE

We offer a non-income dependent sliding scale of $20-40, with a one-time first visit consultation fee of $10. You decide what you can afford on the scale.

We know that acupuncture is powerful, life-changing medicine.  As Doctors of Oriental Medicine, we believe that it is our role to provide access to this medicine to as many people as possible.

We have designed our practice to provide high-quality acupuncture treatments in a community setting—this allows us to treat more people, allows patients to pay what they can afford, and creates a sustainable community business.

We the People Community Acupuncture does not receive grants, state or federal money, or insurance reimbursement.  Because we have a sliding scale, we cannot do insurance billing (that’s the insurance companies’ rule).  If you have insurance that covers acupuncture, we’ll be happy to give you a payment receipt so you can submit it; that’s OK with the insurance companies.

The usual American model of treatment once every few weeks or once per month is primarily due to cost. It is very rare for an acupuncturist to resolve a problem completely with one treatment. At your first visit your acupuncturist will prescribe a course of treatment according to your unique condition and constitution.  You should feel better after your first treatment, but patients who follow a course of treatment achieve lasting results much more quickly.

The sliding scale is our way of providing you the tools to heal and enjoy life more fully.
